"Céad mhile fáilte" is the Gealic for welcome, which hangs above the bar. Literally translated, it means "One hundred thousand times welcome"
Paddy O'Ryan is an Irish pub / restaurant where you can come and enjoy an Irish or Dutch beer as well as many other tasty drinks. Not only that, but we have a broad selection of delicious meals from the "Irish kitchen", with a strong bias towards beef, salmon and of course Irish stew.
Besides that, no Irish pub would be complete without music! Paddy O'Ryan offers open mic nights, regular performances from musicians as well as a weekly music quiz!
And what better place to experience the hospitality than in the pub? The pub is the traditional meeting place where stories can be told, music enjoyed and business done, all accompanied by the downing of a few pints of Guinness, of course! This relaxed combination is the Irish 'craic'.
In the old days pubs had two separate areas, the bar was for men only and women were only allowed to sit in the lounge. Children were not allowed in at all. Many pubs took this in "the Irish way" and many still have 'snugs', separate corners for those who want a little peace and quiet. Here, of course, the ladies would sit and chat in the bar where the barman could turn a blind eye.
Paddy O'Ryan first opened its doors on the first of September 1998, the realisation of a long-held dream for Baukje de Vries. The atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and relaxed. So much so that it's often hard to leave! The staff are not only Irish, but come from all over the world. It goes without saying that you can expect to hear English as soon as you walk in the door!
